Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Who is your inspiring role model & why?

Ms. Latika Nath

Dr Jane Goodall is my role model for the work she has done in the fields of wildlife conservation and as a wildlife biologist.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Message for those who are impressed by your choice of career? 5 tips to keep in mind to overcome challenges in life?

Ms. Latika Nath

  1. I believe you should work at a career that you are passionate about. I believe that one needs to dream, and to have the conviction to work to make the dreams come true.
  2. The world is full of negativity and beauty. I believe in focusing on the positive aspects of life to gain the inner strength to deal with the negativity, pain, suffering and problems.
  3. I believe in learning from my mistakes and being unapologetic about making them.
  4. I believe in living in the now, building on the learnings and experiences of the past, but not letting them rule your life.
  5. I am an optimist and before I sleep each night, try and remember and be grateful for all the family and friends and support that I have.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Your upcoming future plans where we might see you?

Ms. Latika Nath

I would like to work to influencing policy and decision making in the field of wildlife conservation. I shall be continuing to explore the art of photography, and expand my experiences in this area.

The biggest project is “Hidden India”, my new company that will be focusing on Conservation Tourism Projects.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Injuries you suffered if any & how you coped with them especially at work? An unforgettable experience.

Ms. Latika Nath

I have been in accidents where I have broken ribs, damaged my spine and vertebrae and injured my hip and knee.

Part of the focus whilst working with Sumaya Dalmia was to overcome these issues.

When I am in the field, the all-encompassing passion for studying and photographing wild species ensures I forget all discomfort and handicaps.
