For our March digital issue of Women Fitness India, we had the pleasure of interviewing Tanya Mehra, a mom influencer and certified child nutritionist who has been making waves in the parenting space.
In the fast-paced corporate world, Tanya thrived as a senior economic researcher at one of the Big 4 firms. With a degree from the prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), she spent eight years immersed in economic studies, chasing deadlines, and making an impact in her field. But in 2020, her life took a turn—one that would reshape her career and influence thousands of mothers across India. The birth of her daughter was more than just a beautiful moment; it was a catalyst for change.
“Motherhood hit me like a beautiful storm,” Tanya recalls. “Suddenly, my world was filled with sleepless nights, feeding schedules, and the constant learning curve of being a new mom.” Like many mothers, she found herself searching for guidance, reassurance, and community. It was a simple yet heartfelt social media post about her experience with formula feeding that opened the floodgates. “The DMs poured in—so many moms thanking me for saying out loud what they were afraid to admit. That was my ‘aha’ moment. I realized my journey could help other moms feel seen, heard, and less alone.”
From that moment on, Tanya embraced content creation, sharing her experiences, struggles, and wins with an authenticity that resonated deeply with her audience. Her ability to keep it real—showcasing not just the picture-perfect moments but also the tantrums, the messy meals, and the mental load of motherhood—set her apart in the crowded influencer space. But even as she built a thriving digital presence, Tanya knew the importance of balance.
“I believe authenticity connects us, but boundaries protect us,” she shares. “I’m intentional about what I put out there. Certain aspects of my daughter’s life and our private moments remain ours alone. It’s all about respecting our space while still showing up honestly for my community.”
As her content grew, so did her following. Today, Tanya has an engaged Instagram community of over 300k followers who trust her voice. But she never set out to be an “influencer”—she simply walked the journey with her audience, one relatable post at a time. Whether it’s sharing quick lunchbox ideas or speaking openly about single parenting, Tanya’s approach is refreshingly real.
This authenticity extends to her brand collaborations as well. In a world where social media influencers often face scrutiny over sponsored content, Tanya holds firm to her values. “If I wouldn’t use it for my child, I won’t promote it. Period,” she states. “I research every product and test it before sharing it with my audience. I’ve even turned down high-paying campaigns because they didn’t align with my values. My trust in my community is non-negotiable.”
Beyond social media, Tanya is also a certified child nutritionist, offering expert-led courses like “Starting Solids for Babies” and “Transitioning from Purees to Solids.” Her mission? To make child nutrition more accessible and empower parents with reliable, evidence-based guidance.
But Tanya’s journey hasn’t been without challenges. A divorce in 2022 tested her resilience, but instead of letting it define her, she turned her experiences into a source of strength—not just for herself, but for other single mothers navigating similar struggles. “I want to show women that they can rebuild, that they can find happiness and purpose again,” she says.
Her impact has not gone unnoticed. Tanya has been honored with multiple awards, including the prestigious Cosmopolitan Mom Influencer of the Year Award and recognition from Nestlé for her genuine content. She was twice nominated for the Popular Choice Award, winning it the second time—a testament to her deep connection with her audience. She was also recognized as the Warm Influencer of the Year by Inspire Beyond Motherhood and has been featured in conversations with Neha Dhupia on Freedom To Feed.
Looking back, if she could give her younger self one piece of advice, it would be this: “Stop trying to fit into a box. You don’t need perfect lighting, an aesthetic feed, or viral hacks to grow. Just show up with your truth. Your story—exactly as it is—is your superpower.”
With her unwavering dedication to empowering mothers, Tanya Mehra is more than an influencer—she is a movement. As she continues her journey, she remains committed to raising awareness about child nutrition, mental health, and the strength of single mothers. Her story proves that when passion meets purpose, the impact is limitless.
