Skin experts in Mumbai reveal to us what are the most sought after treatments.
Skin lightening treatments and fillers
Dr Mohan Thomas, Senior Cosmetic Surgeon, Breach Candy Hospital and Cosmetic Surgery Institute says there has been a marked interest in the young generation over beauty interventions undertaken by celebrities. Videos of people undergoing beauty treatments have gone viral. “The most in demand skin treatments for the younger college-going crowd is acne treatments and laser hair removal. Brides opt for skin lightening treatments and fillers. Middle aged women go for facials and other anti-ageing treatments. Medi-facials that involve the use of concentrated serums with dermarollers and microdermabrasion drives the nutrients into the skin so as to get rejuvenated skin. Also, Vampire facials for people who are looking at volume addition and skin rejuvenation at the same time, are popular too,” says Dr Thomas.
Anti-ageing treatments in demand
Dr Deepika Shetty, Dermatologist says apart from anti-ageing treatments which score the most, people also seek hair removal, acne treatments, skin lightening and rejuvenating surgeries like face lift. “In anti-ageing treatments, we have fillers, Botox and threads which are injectables. The option of equipments that use energy generated by RF, Ultra Sound etc are also available. With the advent of Thermi — the first minimally invasive injectable RF, the scope of face and body tightening has further increased. Today people are open to invasive procedures or procedures with less downtime and Thermi provides just that. Mostly women look want skin, which is smooth, firm and tight, even in colour and well hydrated,” she adds.
