Various programs were organized on International Women’s Health Day by the Community Medical Department of Himalayan Institution of Medical Sciences, Swami Ram Himalayan University, SRHU. Community Medical Department gave information about female health in women sector of rural areas at Kukakawala, Rural Health Training Center, Doiwala. In the Himalayan Institute of Medical Science, HIS organized poster demonstrations, quiz contest and street plays by MBBS and PG students whose theme was based on the need for women to be healthy in the creation of a healthy society. Girls of MBBS told regional women that do not hesitate in sexually-related diseases, advise the doctor specialist immediately after showing symptoms of sexual infections and sexual reproductive disorders. On this occasion, Head of the Department of Community Medicine Dr. Jayanti Semwal said that the main purpose of celebrating Women’s Health Day is to spread awareness amongst women about issues related to women’s health and welfare like sexual dysfunction, reproduction, health and rights. Dr. Deepshikha gave women information about sexual and reproductive health, sexual education, use of modern contraceptive methods, maternity care, safe abortion, appropriate care after abortion, prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. Dr. Chandra Pant said that awareness is important for preventing sexually transmitted diseases. On this occasion Dr. Chandra Pant, Dr. Deepshikha, Dr. Shilpi, Dr. Rajneesh, Dr. Punit Kalra, Rita Bhatt, Farjana Ansari and Aradhana were present.
