These days infertility has become a major issue due to the metro lifestyle and many females go through it without the correct knowledge about how to handle it.
Before you come to a conclusion that you are not fit to be pregnant, here are some easy tips to increase your chances of getting pregnant.
1. See Your Gynecologist
You’re more likely to have a successful pregnancy when your body is up to the task. Begin with scheduling a pregnancy checkup with a doctor to find out whether you’re in your best health and to learn what things could help.
This may help you to resolve any health issues before hand and prepare yourself for a healthy pregnancy.
2. Track Your Periods
The key to getting pregnant quickly is figuring out when you’ll ovulate, or release an egg from your ovary.
You ovulate only once each menstrual cycle. If you can tell when you’ll ovulate, you and your partner can time intercourse for the best chance of getting pregnant that cycle.
You can use a few different methods to determine when you ovulate, like using a calculator or an app to keep a track.
3. Have Sex Before You Ovulate
Sperms can stick around in your uterus and fallopian tubes for two to three days, but your egg only lasts for 12 to 24 hours only, after it’s released. So having sex before you ovulate boosts the chances of the egg fertilizing.
For a typical 28-day cycle (where you ovulate on day 14), here’s what you’ll do:
- Start having sex a few times a week as soon as your period ends.
- Make a point to have sex every other day starting around day 10.
- When you have a positive result on your OPK (around day 12), have sex that day and the next two days — these are your primo days out of the month to conceive.
4. Go Off Your Birth Control Before Hand
After you’ve been using birth control for a while, it may take your body a few cycles to start ovulating regularly and be primed for pregnancy, hence, you must get off these pills well before time when you plan to have a baby.
5. Boost His Sperm Efficiency
Strong and healthy sperm have the best chance of fertilizing an egg, therefore you can help him improve his fertility:
- Skip tobacco and recreational drugs.
- Limit alcoholic drinks.
- Get to a healthy weight if overweight.
- Get enough of certain key nutrients – like zinc, folic acid, and vitamin C – that help produce strong and plentiful sperm.
