2018 is going to be a futuristic year. It will be a year loaded with path defining fashion trends. Here are a few trends that I personally think will be ‘in’.
Fringe
The reemergence of fringe was fresh and fun. During the start of 2017, we spotted full-on fringe looks from dresses to coats and even accessories embellished with this finish. We expect the international runway brimming with a quintessential celebratory element – which will be livelier. With fringe we expect outfits that can be shaken from dusk till dawn.
60’s Floral Prints
“Floral for spring? Groundbreaking,” the print actually feels fresh again for 2018. Thanks to designers drawing from the 60s designs, which are characterized by dramatic colors and large buds. Look out for this print on organza dresses, kimono and even in footwear.
Daytime Sparkles
Glitter and sequins are usually reserved for nighttime festivities, but I’m here to tell you that they’re perfectly fine for daytime wear too. Let the natural light reflect off a shimmery skirt or top because there’s no better way to stand out. Plus, now you don’t have to worry about changing out of your 9-to-5 look.
Lavender
London runways took a softer approach to color for spring with pastels and dusty tones shades of lavender and lilac popped up in Spring’18 shows, and I couldn’t be more pleased. The color is a nice change from millennial pink and looks great on every item.
Tulle
It’s festive, it’s glamorous and it’s sheer! Tulle is no longer reserved for wedding veils. I hope your summer wardrobe is already keen deep in tulle.
Satin
Satin was the dominant fabric during the London shows for two great reasons. First, its sheen instantly elevates any silhouette; second, its natural fluidity and lightness makes it comfortable to wear all night long. There are no doubts that we will be seeing a lot more of Satin in 2018.
On that note let’s close 2017 on a fashionable note and embrace 2018 with a lot of innovation and groundbreaking fashion.
