Namita Nayyar:
How did your family and friends react to your decision to shift to India for your career?
Edin Rose
My family & friends back home in Dubai were very supportive, everyone knew I’m headstrong and there was no way I’d settle for less or for something I didn’t want, there was only one option and I chose that, and having a strong back support of family and friends gave me the push I needed.
Namita Nayyar:
How has your experience been working in the Tollywood industry so far?
Edin Rose
It’s lovely, the shoots are fast, the result also shows soon, the professionalism is unmatchable, and the nature of the people down south is so welcoming and open to outsiders like me, making it easy to work with them and feel at home.
Namita Nayyar:
Can you share some challenges you faced when you first started in the Indian film industry?
Edin Rose
My major challenge back then and even now is, that I don’t look quote on quote ‘Indian’ making it very difficult to match or fit into roles, making it very stereotypical and limited to only a kind or a parameter that suits me, which is why I always tend to score the ‘mod’ girl roles which is not the only thing I want to play as an actor, I look for versatility.
Namita Nayyar:
What was your first break in Tollywood, and how did it come about?
Edin Rose:
My first break was Ravanasura with Ravi Teja, sir, a friend of mine referred me for this song, I did not think much of it or that it would even happen, and behold there came the call exactly 2 days later, I was over the moon, Of course working alongside a star was my first and only felt the pressure but it was all smooth and he was super friendly.
