Divyanka Tripathi On Changing Dynamics In The Industry, Mental Health and The Power Of Kindness

Namita Nayyar:

Along with physical fitness, how do take care of your mental health? Do you meditate or journal writing?

Divyanka Tripathi:

For my mental health, I read and listen to motivational books or biographies. In fact, at times I even save the parts that impress me in my notes. One has found her or his own method that gives them mental calmness. It can be something as simple as listening to music or praying.

Namita Nayyar:

Social media is both a Boone and bane, you have a huge following of 18 million on Instagram, how do handle trolling and negativity

Divyanka Tripathi:

Social media is on a sudden boom in the last few years and as much as I detested it before, I can’t imagine myself without it anymore. If we reflect, this pandemic must be a lot smoother than the last century’s due to an effective relay of important messages and constant communication with loved ones thanks to social networking.
Every medicine comes with side effects though. Online trolling, fabricated information, issues are blown out of proportion is a common occurrence in my SM life too like everyone else’s. I just try not to ingest everything as it is being shown.
One must enjoy the life on internet without getting completely intertwined in it. A sense of responsibility and dignity are important here as well like any other place and if someone tries to mess with it, one must never shy away from confronting / blocking/reporting.

Namita Nayyar:

Divyanka you have been one of the most popular faces in the Indian television industry, nowadays OTT is the big thing do you plan to be part of that? Also your thoughts on changing dynamics in the entertainment industry

Divyanka Tripathi:

Every woman has the potential of being a nurturer and much more. There are layers to a woman that unfortunately remain unexplored to a large extent on TV and in Films due to maybe lack of creativity or fear of rejection by the masses.
OTT is taking a bolder step in that direction and its acceptance by the viewers is a clear indication that the older mediums must evolve with the audience else they’ll go extinct.

Namita Nayyar:

Divyanka you have mentioned in an interview that you feel shy to post pictures in a bikini, do you still feel the same, how would you react if a role demanded the same

Divyanka Tripathi:

When I make statements like that, please don’t believe me. I have contradicted myself many times in the past for the sake of work. Life is surprising and so am I. Who knows, what decision I’ll take tomorrow if the work demands.
