Namita Nayyar:
Many people feel that reality shows are scripted, you have been part of two reality shows, what is your take on the same? Also, would you prefer reality shows over fiction drama?
Divya Agarwal
Reality shows are a different league altogether. I never explored that arena, to be honest, and I had only heard of Splitsvilla when I was struggling. I thought why not give it a shot? And hallelujah, it is not scripted, in comparison to what people think.
Reality shows are nothing but a bunch of stories that an individual brings along. Be it weird, ugly, good, bad, childhood trauma, or taboo topics —- we discuss. And audience enjoys it because they can relate to your personal stories. The entire production behind these reality shows banks on such stories.
I wanted people to know me by my name and I was totally myself in all those reality shows. I think I somewhere had my career graph planned in my head. I thoroughly enjoyed that stint. Later I picked up fictional characters and did Ragini MMS, a web series, which was a different vibe altogether.
Namita Nayyar:
What excites you most about acting & drama? Your favorite series.
Divya Agarwal:
I’ve been binging on a lot of content and the pandemic definitely gave me plenty of time to explore the different OTT platforms. I’ve also been reviewing a lot of web series on my social media.
I enjoyed Sushmita Sen’s Aarya, Avrodh, too I liked. Talking about International shows, I’m a huge Schitt’s Creek fan. That series just refreshes and helps me unwind from all day’s work.

You recently started your YouTube channel, which is loved by your fans and viewers. Share your plan for video content drafting. According to you what impresses your followers the most
Divya Agarwal:
I always wanted to start my own YouTube channel because I love content ideation. Even though I wanted it to be a solo stint, Varun and I decided to do it together so that both our fans could learn and grow with us.
We mostly go with what our fans want from us, what the trends are on social media – and the plan generates from there. I sit with a storyboard and think of many things like script, venue, costume, choreography if needed, aesthetics, and much more.
As actors, we don’t have the opportunity to work with our partners all the time but through our YouTube platform, our fans also wanted to see us a couple more. We have planned quite a few things for the channel but the only drawback is time. We don’t want to publish anything casual. It has to be shot well. So we just wait for the perfect opportunity to shoot things.
